The U.S. President appeared before a crowd in the Rose Garden on Wednesday to unveil reciprocal tariffs on imported goods.
“There will be very good news. Today is ‘Liberation Day’, something the U.S. has been waiting for for a long time,” he stated.
He added that today would be remembered as the day American industry “is reborn” and the day America “becomes wealthy again.”
Trump stated that the U.S. has been taken advantage of by “cheaters” and “plundered” by foreigners.
“Our taxpayers have been robbed for more than 50 years, but that will not happen anymore,” he added.
