Kosovo has been rocked by a deadly string of shootings that left four people dead in just three days, sparking alarm at the highest levels of government.
On Sunday, a 19-year-old was shot and killed in Vushtrri by a peer who later confessed to the crime.
Just a day later, a man murdered a 42-year-old woman in a village outside the same city before turning the gun on himself.
And on Tuesday, a man in his 60s was gunned down in the capital, Pristina. The shooter is still on the run.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti called the violence a national tragedy, urging police and prosecutors to act fast and thoroughly.
“Murder is not just a crime against one person—it’s a blow to all of society,” Kurti said in a sombre cabinet meeting.
The killings came as Kosovo marked 26 years since NATO’s bombing campaign against Serbian forces, a time meant for remembrance—now darkened by fresh bloodshed.
