Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama called for a fourth mandate, arguing that a strong May 11 vote would secure Albania’s rapid EU accession. Speaking in Elbasan, he compared Albania’s progress to Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia, emphasizing that Albania could complete negotiations by 2027—a record pace.
“If we hesitate even for three months, we won’t make the 2027 deadline,” Rama warned, stressing that Albania and Montenegro are now seen as the EU’s next members.
He dismissed opposition parties as obstacles to progress, urging voters to back the Socialist Party as the “right force at the right time.”
