Prime Minister Edi Rama told Socialist Party candidates in Tirana that his government is committed to securing Albania’s EU membership by 2030, calling it a once-in-a-generation opportunity. Speaking at the party headquarters, Rama urged citizens to recognize the importance of this moment, warning that history’s train doesn’t wait at the station forever.
Rama reaffirmed that the Socialist Party is the architect of Albania’s justice reform, which has transformed the country’s legal system despite opposition attempts to reverse it. He argued that true individual freedom can only be secured within the EU, where rule of law and equal treatment before justice are guaranteed.
He also accused opposition forces of working to undo reforms that have held corrupt officials accountable. “When we enter the EU, it won’t matter who governs here,” Rama concluded, reinforcing that judicial independence will be key to Albania’s European future.
