Nearly 180 climbers from across Albania braved the rugged peaks of the Albanian Alps this March, tackling the towering binjaket (twin peaks) of Theth in an adrenaline-pumping expedition.
Led by the Albanian Mountaineering Federation, the group ascended Mark Zagora and Qafë Thores, reaching 2,313 meters (7,589 feet) above sea level. Battling winter’s lingering grip, they navigated steep slopes and icy trails, turning the challenge into an unforgettable alpine adventure.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage of the climbers on social media, calling the Theth mountains a paradise for thrill-seekers. The expedition highlights Albania’s push to promote its breathtaking landscapes and growing adventure tourism sector.
The Albanian Alps National Park, with its dramatic cliffs, deep valleys, and untouched wilderness, continues to lure hikers and nature lovers eager to explore one of the Balkans’ most stunning natural treasures.
