Albania’s path to the European Union could mean a massive financial boost, with an extra €1.2 billion flowing into the economy each year, Prime Minister Edi Rama said Monday. Agriculture alone would see a €300 million boost.
Speaking to Socialist Party lawmakers, Rama framed EU accession as a game-changer, tying it to his broader 2030 vision for the economy, jobs, healthcare, and education.
“This is what’s at stake in these elections,” he said. “It’s about better-paying jobs, stronger exports, and a leap forward in healthcare and justice.”
Rama also announced plans to revive Albania’s military industry for the first time since the 1990s, aiming to position the country as a NATO industrial force by 2030.
