Albanians are feeling more secure than ever, with 82% saying they feel safer, thanks to the police, a new survey reveals.
In a survey funded by Sweden, Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha revealed today that 65% of citizens think the State Police is doing a great job.
“People feel safer. The police are meeting EU standards, and last year, Albania was crime-free despite 12 million tourists visiting. We’re on the right track!” Hoxha said.
Prime Minister Edi Rama joined in, calling the results proof that Albania is closing the gap with the EU on safety. But, he didn’t sugarcoat everything. “We’ve still got work to do,” he said, referring to complaints about police road behavior.
