Israel has released 110 Palestinian prisoners as part of a ceasefire deal with Hamas – but not all hostages will make it home alive.
The prisoners were taken from detention centres across the country and moved to Ofer and Ketziot prisons before being set free, Israel’s Prison Service confirmed.
This is the third hostage-prisoner swap under the Qatar-brokered truce. The exchanges will continue until all Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity are released, along with around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
But there’s a grim reality – Israel recently confirmed that eight of the 26 hostages due to be freed had died.
