Albania is set to launch its own Development Bank, with Prime Minister Edi Rama announcing the finalization of the law that will create the institution. In a video message, Rama revealed the new bank will be built in collaboration with Italy’s prestigious “Cassa Depositi e Prestiti” (CDP), a key player in Italy’s financial landscape.
“We’ve just wrapped up a meeting to finalize the legislation for the Albanian Development Bank. Thanks to our partnership with CDP, we’re ready to bring this vital development engine to Albania,” said Rama.
The project is set to be unveiled for public consultation soon, with Rama promising it will be an essential driver of the country’s growth. The bank will be managed by a top Albanian-Italian team, with direct support from CDP to ensure independent, professional, and effective governance.
