Kosovo and Albania’s parliaments have met in Pristina to discuss strengthening ties and coordinating efforts on key issues, including EU integration, regional security, and the rights of Albanians.
In his speech, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti stressed the importance of NATO membership, citing the ongoing threats from Russia and Serbia. He referred to the recent terrorist acts funded by Serbia in northern Kosovo as signs of desperation and emphasized that Kosovo needs Albania’s support to meet NATO’s criteria.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama also spoke, urging Kosovo to continue its European integration efforts and focusing on the need for ongoing EU involvement in negotiations with Serbia. He highlighted Albania’s progress and expressed confidence that Kosovo would follow a similar path.
Both leaders pointed to various areas of cooperation between the two countries, including infrastructure projects, cross-border trade, and joint initiatives in education and healthcare. However, they agreed that there is still much work to be done to improve relations and deliver results for citizens.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani and other officials also echoed the importance of unity between the two nations and the shared goal of EU membership.
