The governments of North Macedonia and Kosovo convened today in Pristina for their second intergovernmental meeting, focusing on joint projects to strengthen energy cooperation, improve infrastructure, and streamline border crossings.
Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti welcomed his North Macedonian counterpart, Hristijan Mickoski, with an official reception. The two leaders exchanged greetings with their cabinet members after the national anthems of both nations were played.
Discussions are centered on implementing a “One Stop Shop” at the Bllacë and Jazhincë border crossings, aimed at easing cross-border travel and fostering trade. Officials hope the project will reduce delays and promote freer movement of goods and people.
Energy cooperation is also a priority, with both sides exploring shared infrastructure to enhance regional power integration. Additionally, talks will address the Tetovo-Prizren road project, which promises to improve connectivity and drive economic growth.
This meeting follows the first intergovernmental session held in Skopje in 2021, reflecting a shared commitment to deeper cooperation.
Kurti and Mickoski voiced optimism, calling the initiatives vital for advancing regional integration and development in the Western Balkans.
