Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama confirmed that Albania will host the European Political Community (EPC) summit in 2025, putting Tirana at the heart of key discussions on climate change, migration, and economic security. The announcement came as Rama joined European leaders in Budapest, where he officially accepted Albania’s role in hosting next year’s gathering.
At the summit’s opening session, Rama stressed Albania’s commitment to guiding EPC discussions on pressing issues facing Europe. “We’re honored to host the 2025 summit,” he said, highlighting Albania’s readiness to foster dialogue on Europe’s shared challenges.
Rama emphasized climate action as a priority, along with economic security topics such as energy, digital infrastructure, and global trade. Migration will also feature prominently in Tirana, with leaders bringing diverse perspectives from across Europe.
Rama also commented on potential U.S. political shifts, suggesting that Donald Trump’s possible return to the White House may not disrupt Europe-U.S. relations. “When Trump was president, NATO grew stronger,” he said, expressing hope for continued cooperation.
