Democratic Party candidate Jorida Tabaku has launched her campaign in the rural areas of Tirana with promises aimed at farmers, including tax cuts and agricultural subsidies.
Speaking to a small group of farmers, Tabaku acknowledged the sector’s struggles and pledged reforms, including 5-year tax breaks for returning diaspora investors, VAT cuts to 6%, and better access to EU rural development funds.
Critics, however, point to her absence from the same constituency she once represented. In 2021, Tabaku campaigned in Unit 8 in Tirana but did not maintain a visible presence after winning. This time, she shifted districts and returned with promises many say are recycled from her past mandate.
