Malaysia has abolished visa requirements for short-term travel by Kosovar citizens, President Vjosa Osmani announced.
Kosovars can now visit Malaysia for up to 30 days without a visa. President Osmani, who will visit Malaysia next week to open Kosovo’s embassy in Kuala Lumpur, hailed the decision as a sign of strengthening bilateral ties.
“This is a clear indication that the ties between our two countries are strengthening day by day,” she stated.
Malaysia was among the first to recognize Kosovo’s 2008 independence. Acting Foreign Minister Donika GĂ«rvalla also welcomed the move as proof of Kosovo’s growing international standing.
Previously one of 38 countries with visa-on-arrival for Kosovars, Malaysia is now the 53rd nation allowing visa-free entry for Kosovar citizens.
