
The Basic Prosecution in Ferizaj, Kosovo, is seeking pre-trial detention for a minor, R.B., suspected in the murder of police officer Muhamed Lika.
The prosecution alleges that on April 1, 2025, in Kaçanik, the minor, acting with adult accomplices, intentionally killed officer Lika as he returned home after work. The minor allegedly shot the officer from behind in the building where he lived.
Officer Lika died from gunshot wounds. The prosecution is pursuing charges of aggravated murder.
Kosovo Police have arrested seven individuals suspected of planning and carrying out the murder, including a former police officer and a former member of the Kosovo Security Force, who allegedly joined an organized extremist group.
One of the key suspects arrested is Rejhan Bela, an 18-year-old believed to be the main perpetrator. At the time of the crime, Bela was 17. The murder is suspected to have been premeditated and part of the group’s plans.
