Seasoned journalist Eni Vasili has been appointed as the Director General of the Albanian Radio and Television (RTSH), the country’s public broadcaster. Vasili received seven votes from the RTSH Governing Council in the final round of voting.
The selection process required a three-fifths majority, leading to a second round with the top three candidates: Zoje Jakaj, Engjëllush Musai, and Vasili. Ultimately, Vasili secured the necessary support.
“The second vote for the Director General of the Albanian Radio and Television proved successful, meeting the statutory requirement… Candidate Eni Vasili is elected Director General… with seven votes,” announced Fatjon Hoxhalli, Chairman of the Governing Council.
Vasili, a well-known journalist and moderator with experience at several major national television stations, is set to serve a five-year term leading RTSH. She was among twelve initial candidates for the position.
