Donald Trump has issued a final warning to Hamas, demanding the immediate release of all remaining hostages in Gaza. The U.S president, speaking via his TruthSocial platform, vowed to give Israel everything it needs to “finish the job,” calling the hostage deal a top priority for America’s interests.
His hardline stance comes as the White House confirmed direct talks between U.S. officials and Hamas representatives in Qatar—marking a dramatic shift from Washington’s long-standing policy of avoiding direct negotiations with the militant group.
In a move that signals intensifying pressure, Trump hosted eight former Israeli hostages at the White House. Meanwhile, Israeli authorities report that Hamas still holds around 24 live captives, including American Edan Alexander, and at least 35 bodies.
The proposed new deal would see Hamas release half of the remaining hostages in exchange for a temporary ceasefire extension and a pledge to negotiate a long-term truce. However, Israel has made no mention of freeing additional Palestinian prisoners—a key Hamas demand.
With the situation on a knife’s edge, Egypt and Qatar continue to mediate between the warring sides. But with Trump turning up the heat, the question remains—will Hamas give in, or will the conflict explode again?
