
Kenya has recognised Kosovo, becoming the 118th state to do so.
Former Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli announced the recognition after a ceremony in Nairobi.
Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani welcomed the move, thanking Kenyan President William Ruto.
Pacolli stated he had lobbied Kenya for recognition since 2009. Osmani noted discussions with Ruto on the issue.
Kosovo declared independence in 2008. 117 states previously recognised it, with Israel the last in 2021.
