Koço Kokëdhima, president of Albanian football club FK Apolonia, is under criminal investigation after storming the pitch and physically confronting the referee during a match.
The incident occurred during a game between Apolonia and FK Gramshi, when Kokëdhima—accompanied by other club officials—entered the field and was seen pushing and verbally abusing referee Dorjan Melataj.
The match was halted for approximately 30 minutes. Under Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) rules, such an incident should have led to an immediate suspension of the game. However, following intense pressure, the referee resumed play.
Apolonia went on to win 1-0.
Kokëdhima is being investigated for “violent conduct at a sporting event,” a criminal offense under Albanian law. The FSHF is expected to issue a disciplinary ruling in the coming days.
