Lulzim Berisha, a 54-year-old Albanian fugitive wanted for multiple murders and organized crime, has been extradited from Spain following his arrest in December 2023.
Captured in Operation “Sant Joan,” Berisha was handed over to Albanian authorities through coordination between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Madrid. He had been on an international wanted list since 2020, when Albania’s Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime issued a prison arrest warrant.
Berisha is accused of several violent crimes, including:
- 2004: Shooting and injuring two individuals.
- 2005: Killing one person and injuring another near Koxhaj village.
- 2005: Killing two people using explosives placed in an elevator.
Authorities say Berisha was part of a structured criminal group involved in weapons trafficking and violent offenses.
