Bank of Albania Governor Gent Sejko has reported a positive outlook for the Albanian economy.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr Sejko highlighted recent increases in economic activity, employment, and wages. He noted that inflation remains low, averaging 1.9 per cent in early 2025, and that financial markets are stable. Lending has also seen strong growth.
Mr Sejko credited the central bank’s monetary policy for contributing to this stable environment.
The Bank of Albania projects continued sustainable economic growth and inflation close to its target in the medium term.
However, the bank cautioned that geopolitical tensions and potential trade barriers present risks to growth and inflation.
