Serbian officials say that support for Vojvodina’s independence is growing, raising concerns about separatist movements.
President Aleksandar Vucic has accused opposition groups of trying to separate Vojvodina from Serbia, create a new republic, and introduce a new “Vojvodina language.”
In response, Vucic has announced a large pro-government gathering on February 15, Serbian Statehood Day. At the event, a national declaration will be adopted to confirm Vojvodina’s status within Serbia.
“Vojvodina is Serbia. Forever,” Vucic wrote, making his position clear.
