Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama says his Socialist Party will win a fourth term in the May 11 elections, vowing to lead the country into the EU by 2030.
Speaking at a party event, Rama said only his government could deliver Albania’s European future. “100 days from now, the Socialist Party will secure another mandate to take Albania to the top—where it belongs, as part of Europe,” he said.
He dismissed the opposition as “an old party with nothing democratic but its name” and warned voters against backing “new factions that offer nothing but younger leaders.”
Rama has been in power since 2013, winning big in 2017 and 2021. His government has pushed EU reforms but faces criticism over corruption and governance. The opposition, led by ex-PM Sali Berisha, remains divided ahead of the vote.
