UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Tirana today for his first official visit to Albania. Greeted at Rinas Airport by Prime Minister Edi Rama, he was then honored in a reception at the Brigade Palace, kicking off a visit set to strengthen the bond between the two countries.
The two leaders signed important agreements, including a major energy deal involving UAE-based companies Masdar and TAQA, and Albanian firms KESH and OST. This collaboration, which will advance key energy projects, marks a new chapter in Albania’s infrastructure development.
Another key moment came with the signing of the Albania Smart City Project between the Ministry of Interior and “Presight AI Ltd.” The project promises to bring advanced technology and better urban planning to Albania’s growing cities.
President Al Nahyan also reinforced his commitment to Albania’s recovery after the 2019 earthquake, personally funding new housing in Spitallë. Prime Minister Rama called the visit a “significant milestone,” signaling a deeper partnership between the UAE and Albania moving forward.
