ALBANIAN AUTHORITIES have successfully dismantled a major international drug trafficking network in a high-stakes operation dubbed “Alba Tibus.” The crackdown led to the arrest of three individuals involved in a sophisticated cannabis smuggling operation, primarily targeting Rome, Italy.
The operation, conducted by the Albanian Organized Crime Unit, saw close collaboration with Italian law enforcement, including the Carabinieri in Rome. Authorities seized large quantities of cannabis and uncovered a well-organized network operating across borders.
The arrests are part of a broader effort to disrupt transnational organized crime. Albanian police continue to pursue other members of the group, including one suspect already serving time in a local prison.
