Albania is struggling to catch the eye of German investors, despite its potential. The latest KPMG report reveals that while the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region is booming with German investments, Albania is not one of the top spots.
The report shows that the CEE is still a key area for German businesses, drawn by low labor costs, close proximity to the EU, and growing demand. But Albania’s political instability, labor shortages, and slow reforms are keeping it from being a major player.
Countries like Serbia and Croatia are raking in investments, with Serbia seeing the highest growth in German money over the past decade. Meanwhile, Albania’s investments are stuck at just 464 million euros, ranking ninth in the region.
Germany is heavily investing in manufacturing, tech, and renewable energy across CEE, but Albania isn’t seeing the benefits. Experts say the country’s future depends on improving political stability and economic conditions.
In short, Albania has potential, but until it fixes its issues, it will continue to fall behind.
