Zoran Milanovic has been re-elected as Croatia’s president in a landslide, winning 77.86% of the vote in the second round, according to exit polls.
The Social Democrat leader defeated Dragan Primorac, a former education minister backed by the ruling centre-right HDZ, who managed just 22.1%.
Milanovic, first elected in 2020, thanked voters on social media, pledging to serve all Croatians. Presidential terms in Croatia last five years, with a maximum of two terms.
Kosovo’s president, Vjosa Osmani, congratulated Milanovic, calling him a “steadfast supporter” of Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic ambitions.
