Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani has revealed that a landmark strategic dialogue with the United States is nearing completion, marking a significant step in strengthening ties between the two nations.
In a social media post following her meeting with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard R. Verma, Osmani hailed the dialogue as a “major achievement” that showcases the power of a partnership grounded in shared values and mutual interests.
The agreement, which is expected to focus on critical areas to benefit Kosovo’s citizens, will soon be finalised in talks between the two nations’ teams. While further details remain under wraps, Osmani stressed the importance of this cooperation for Kosovo’s development and stability.
The U.S. Embassy in Pristina confirmed the establishment of the bilateral Strategic Dialogue and highlighted discussions on preserving Kosovo’s democratic and multi-ethnic character. “All communities must be able to thrive without fear,” the Embassy stated.
Verma’s visit, part of a broader regional tour, includes discussions on governance, economic growth, and energy security. His next stop is Belgrade, where he’ll underscore the growing U.S.-Serbia partnership, particularly in energy and other key sectors.
