Lara Colturi has kicked off the year in style, securing a second-place finish in the Giant Slalom at the World Championships in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. The 18-year-old, who competes for Albania, delivered a standout performance in one of the sport’s most demanding events.
Colturi finished just behind Sweden’s Olympic champion Sara Hector in a thrilling race. This result marks her second career podium finish, following her earlier success in Gurgl, Austria.
Prime Minister Edi Rama took to social media to congratulate Colturi, calling her the youngest athlete in the World Cup finals. He praised her achievement, highlighting the significance of her performance on the global stage.
Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj also shared his congratulations, stating that Colturi’s strong performance signals a promising year ahead for the talented skier.
