Kosovo has kicked off its voting by mail for the upcoming parliamentary elections. Expats living abroad now have until February 8 to cast their ballots, with the country’s regular elections set for February 9.
Kosovo’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has officially opened the voting period by mail for citizens living abroad ahead of the country’s parliamentary elections. Those who have registered to vote remotely can now submit their ballots, with the final deadline for mail-in voting set for February 8.
Only citizens who have successfully registered as overseas voters are eligible to participate in this process. Completed ballots must be sent to one of the CEC’s designated postboxes located outside Kosovo, or to the CEC’s official postbox in Kosovo.
For those who prefer to vote in person, the CEC has confirmed that voting will take place on February 8, 2025, at Kosovo’s diplomatic missions.
The regular parliamentary elections are set for February 9, 2025, with the official campaign beginning on January 11. In total, 28 political parties have been approved by the CEC to run, with 1,280 candidates competing for 120 seats in Kosovo’s Assembly.
Kosovo’s parliamentary elections are a crucial moment for the country’s democratic future, offering citizens both at home and abroad the chance to make their voices heard.
