A major deal has been struck between Israel and Hamas to stop the war in Gaza, with a HUGE hostage swap at the heart of it.
After MONTHS of deadly fighting, the ceasefire agreement promises to free dozens of Israeli hostages and hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. It also paves the way for displaced Palestinians to return to their homes, if there’s anything left of them.
But the deal isn’t DONE yet—Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu says it’s not final. Talks are still going on to iron out the final details.
Hostages and Prisoners – The Exchange Is On!
The deal promises to release 33 Israeli hostages in the first phase, with more to follow. In exchange, hundreds of Palestinian prisoners will be set free. Humanitarian aid will also flood Gaza—something the war-torn region desperately needs.
Six Weeks to Peace?
The ceasefire is set to last six weeks, with talks to follow on ending the war for good. But questions remain—how many hostages are still alive? How soon can displaced people return? And will Israel pull its troops out of Gaza as Hamas demands?
A War of Devastation – Is It Over?
It all kicked off in October 2023 when Hamas militants breached Israel’s borders and slaughtered civilians. More than 46,000 Palestinians have been killed in the fighting, and the world is holding its breath to see if this deal can finally bring peace.
But there’s still chaos ahead—who will control Gaza? How will it rebuild after the devastation? The pressure is on for both sides to make it work.
