Sali Berisha, leader of Albania’s Democratic Party, revealed plans to attend the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) electoral congress in Germany on February 3. Speaking at a press conference, Berisha confirmed that while he had hoped to meet with Albanian expatriates, time constraints will push that visit to a later date.
“I’ve been invited to attend as party leader, and it’s a one-day event. I had planned a meeting with the Albanian community, but I’ll do that another time,” Berisha said. He emphasized having future plans to engage with the diaspora.
In a twist, Berisha was due to appear before the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) on the same day, but his travel plans led to approval for a delay.
