Albania is becoming a high-end tourist hotspot, according to an article published by The Times. Prime Minister Edi Rama highlighted the country’s appeal to international investors, with renowned brands like Melía, Radisson, Marriott, and Hyatt now operating in Albania. He added that the completion of the Vlorë airport will bring the country even closer to global tourists.
“Albania is growing as a tourist destination, not just for beautiful beaches, but also for luxury travel experiences,” said Rama, noting a 37% increase in visitors from the UK in 2024.
Tourism Minister Mirela Kumbaro also shared the article, pointing out the significant changes in tourism over the last five years. “If you visited Albania five years ago, there were no international brands. Today, the country is a completely different landscape,” she said.
Albania has become one of the most visited destinations, with 11.7 million foreign visitors in 2024.
