Albania is set to transform its public infrastructure with a new plan called “New Bridges for Albania 2030,” announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama on Thursday. The goal is to develop key public projects by working with private businesses. These projects will cover areas like tourism, culture, government buildings, and social services.
Rama explained that the program will focus on improving government offices and creating partnerships that benefit both the public and private sectors.
“We’re learning from countries like Italy and Spain, where public-private partnerships have been successful for many years,” Rama said. “This program will help strengthen the relationship between the government and businesses.”
The program will start with several projects selected through open competitions. These projects will aim to create modern spaces for public services, while offering businesses a chance to work with the government.
Rama also said the new plan will change how the public sector works, bringing a more business-minded approach. He added that this would help Albania join other countries that already use these types of partnerships.
“Before, the process was slow and complicated,” Rama said. “Now, we’re making it simpler, more transparent, and more beneficial for everyone.”
With “New Bridges for Albania 2030,” Albania is ready to modernize its infrastructure, attract investment, and boost its economy by working more closely with the private sector.
