Albania has given ethnic Greeks the right to self-identify without the need for official documents, in a move that could thaw relations with Greece.
The new laws allow individuals to declare their Greek identity from anywhere, with recognition promised within 30 days.
This step comes as Albania works to strengthen ties with its southern neighbor after Greece threatened to block its EU membership bid.
