lbania and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have signed a landmark agreement to develop green finance initiatives and promote sustainable economic growth.
The deal, described as a historic step by Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, is expected to accelerate the country’s progress toward EU membership and bolster its regional economic role.
Hasani expressed gratitude to the EIB for its consistent support since Albania’s transition, noting its vital role in driving the EU’s Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans.
“Tirana is on track to becoming a key regional economic hub,” Hasani stated on X, pointing to the enhanced funding and expertise the agreement will bring.
The partnership is seen as a significant boost for Albania’s efforts to align with EU standards while addressing key environmental and financial challenges.
