Two people have tragically died on the island of Lemnos as relentless storms continue to wreak havoc across the region.
Authorities issued an emergency evacuation warning for Kontias residents, urging them to head to Myrina due to fears of a local dam bursting.
A 70-year-old man from Kontias was killed after slipping and hitting his head while cleaning his slippery stairs. He was rushed to Myrina Hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Earlier, a 57-year-old farmer was found dead in Kontias after being reported missing by his family following heavy rain on Saturday morning. His body was discovered near a flooded dam.
On nearby Rhodes Island, torrential rain has caused major disruption, with flooding blocking roads in villages like Pastida, Kremasti, Ialyssos, and Maritsa. More than 20 vehicles are stranded.
Authorities have urged people to avoid travel until the weather improves.
