Albania’s tourism sector has played a key role in the country’s economic growth, with the latest figures from the Bank of Albania showing impressive results. In the third quarter of 2024 alone, tourism generated nearly 1.9 billion euros, contributing significantly to the economy.
Tourism revenues have increased by 15% compared to last year, while spending has also risen by 13%. By September 2024, the total income from tourism had reached 3.8 billion euros.
Over 11 million foreign visitors have visited Albania in the first 11 months of 2024, showing the country’s growing appeal as a travel destination. Meanwhile, Albanians have spent more than 879 million euros abroad.
The transport sector has also contributed positively, adding 59 million euros to the economy, driven by increased international travel. In the third quarter alone, the transport sector saw foreign currency inflows of 145 million euros.
These figures demonstrate the important role tourism and transport continue to play in Albania’s economic development.
