Kosovo and Serbia will hold important talks in Brussels on Tuesday, December 17, in hopes of improving their strained relations. Kosovo’s chief negotiator, Besnik Bislimi, and Serbia’s Petar Petkovi? will lead the discussions.
The talks are part of ongoing efforts to resolve long-standing issues between the two countries. One of the main topics will be the implementation of agreements aimed at normalizing relations. European Commission spokesperson Anita Hipper confirmed the focus will be on progress toward this goal.
Petkovi? said that Serbia is ready to negotiate but stressed that any solution must protect the rights of Serbs in Kosovo. A key issue remains the creation of the Community of Serb Municipalities, which Serbia views as essential for safeguarding the interests of Serbs in Kosovo.
These talks could be a step toward progress, but whether both sides can reach an agreement remains uncertain.
