Sunday’s Tirana derby delivered tension but no goals as Partizani and Tirana battled to a 0-0 stalemate at the “Air Albania” Stadium on Sunday. Despite a spirited second-half push from Partizani, the derby ended without a winner, leaving fans divided on which side deserved the glory.
A disallowed own goal from Sembene in the 28th minute had Tirana’s fans celebrating—until VAR ruled it out for offside. It was a frustrating moment for the home side, and their struggles continued as Partizani piled on the pressure in the latter stages.
The biggest drama came deep into stoppage time when Partizani’s keeper, Pano Qirko, pulled off a stunning penalty save against Fatmir Prengaj in the 98th minute. Qirko’s heroics ensured Partizani walked away with a crucial point, keeping them top of the Superliga table.
The result leaves Partizani two points clear of Egnatia with 28 points, while Tirana remain in seventh with 16 points, a far cry from their usual dominance.
