On the 34th anniversary of the Democratic Party’s founding, Sali Berisha, leader of Albania’s opposition, revealed plans for a third return to power, aiming to reshape the country’s future. With recent successes in saving the opposition, Berisha now focuses on what he calls the next critical mission: the salvation of Albania.
“We are at a turning point,” Berisha said, speaking to a crowd of supporters. “Our worst days are behind us, and the third return to power will be the true hope for the Albanian people.”
Reflecting on the struggles faced by the party, Berisha warned that had they given in to political pressures, Albania would be under foreign influence, with no true identity. “Had we not resisted, we would be isolated, with a puppet leader imposed on us,” he added.
The ceremony was also marked by a message from Ervin Salianji, a Democratic Party official currently in prison. Salianji, who is serving a sentence for a false report, emphasized the need for continued resistance and urged party members to keep fighting for change in Albania.
