Albanian MP Petrit Dogjani is under investigation for allegedly submitting a false contract regarding the purchase of an apartment in 2006, according to the Prosecutor’s Office. The contract, included in his asset declaration, stated that the apartment was obtained in exchange for legal services Dogjani provided to the company that built the building.
However, investigators uncovered the original contract, revealing that Dogjani paid for the apartment in cash. Authorities believe he falsely declared the source of the property to conceal its true origins.
Dogjani has denied the allegations, claiming the investigation is politically motivated and has refused to provide further details.
In a separate case, the Special Prosecutor’s Office has accused Devolli’s socialist mayor, Eduard Duro, of abuse of office. He is suspected of issuing a construction permit for an unauthorized gas station in Bilishti. Duro has denied the charges, stating he will remain in office despite being indicted.
