Albania has moved into the post-monitoring phase, a major step forward in its bid for EU membership by 2030, officials announced today.
Speaker Elisa Spiropali hailed the country’s rapid progress. “Albania is advancing faster than any other nation in the region toward EU integration,” she said. “Our priority is clear—EU membership by 2030.”
Minister Taulant Balla added that Albania’s democratic reforms are on track. “The Council of Europe has supported us in fighting corruption and strengthening our institutions,” he said.
Blerina Gjylameti, head of Albania’s PACE delegation, called the shift to post-monitoring a significant milestone in Albania’s EU journey.
The Monitoring Committee will continue to assess Albania’s human rights commitments, but the post-monitoring move marks a key moment in the country’s European future.
