Regional leaders across Southeast Europe have extended congratulations to Republican candidate Donald Trump following his declared victory in the U.S. presidential election, with messages focused on strengthening partnerships with Washington.
In Albania, Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed his support for continued U.S.-Albanian relations. Posting on social media, Rama congratulated Trump, calling it an “extraordinary victory” and shared his anticipation of working with the U.S. administration to enhance bilateral ties. “It was a true honor to work with the 46th President of the United States to strengthen the bond between our two countries,” Rama noted, signaling hope for ongoing collaboration in areas of peace and prosperity.
Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the critical alliance between Kosovo and the United States. “The U.S. remains Kosovo’s unwavering partner and essential ally,” she said in a statement on Wednesday. Osmani expressed eagerness to deepen this unique connection, recognizing America as the “leader of the free world.”
North Macedonia also joined in the congratulatory messages, with President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova expressing confidence in future cooperation. “Congratulations to the newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump. Your leadership brings hope for progress and a bright future for all Americans,” she stated.
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski of North Macedonia highlighted the importance of close collaboration with the U.S. “This victory is a testament to the profound faith of the American people in freedom and democracy. I eagerly anticipate enhancing our strong partnership, particularly in security and economic development,” Mickoski added.
