Traffic came to a standstill for three hours on six of Albania’s primary routes as opposition groups staged widespread demonstrations against the government on Tuesday. Supporters of the Democratic Party and the Freedom Party blocked vehicles, allowing only ambulances to pass through.
The most intense clashes occurred in Tirana, Rrogozhinë, and Bradashesh. In Tirana’s former Shqiponja Square, a confrontation ensued between democrat senior officials Flamur Noka, Albana Vokshi, and police forces.
In addition, protesters set tires ablaze at the Shkozet overpass in Durrës and in Milot, escalating tensions in those areas.
These demonstrations reflect increasing unrest within Albania’s political landscape, as opposition parties challenge the ruling government’s policies and actions.
