Oct 2, 2024 — Ilir Proda has been appointed the new head of police in Albania. The announcement was made on Wednesday following a cabinet meeting. According to Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha, the newly appointed police chief successfully passed all assessments and has a clean record.
With nearly two decades of service in law enforcement, Proda began his career in 2005 as a specialist in criminal investigations. He has held various positions, including precinct chief and deputy director for crime investigation. Most recently, he served as the director of police in a major region since March 2023. (Tir-Fax)
